Donations for a Global Civic Engagement Program

My name is Crystal and I am a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett College. I am on the President’s List with a 4.0 GPA and currently majoring in Business Administration. I am often asked this question: When you think “business” what do you think of?  My answer is service. How can I give back to the world? My goal is to become an entrepreneur and open many businesses. One in particular is a nonprofit organization that will allow me to assist less fortunate children in many aspects of their lives. I want to increase their quality of life.

I was given the great opportunity through Georgia Gwinnett College to participate in a Global Civic Engagement Program in Ecuador, South America, March 9th- 17th 2013. In Ecuador I will participate in reforestation programs, plan activities for homeless youth, and partner up with Ecuador’s universities to assist with additional service learning projects.

The Service Learning Trip to Ecuador will allow me to make a difference in individuals’ lives. As I am making a difference in the lives of others, I am also making a difference in my own life, enhancing my personal development and growth. Not only will this trip allow me to grasp the complexity of international issues but it will increase my knowledge of the process of making the world a more equitable and sustainable place.

I am asking for monetary contributions that will help me to participate in this program.  Any amount that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. The cost of the trip is $1,600. This will cover: program fees, plane tickets, housing fees and meals. January 10, 2013 is the first deadline in the amount of $700. The full amount has to be paid by February 5, 2013. With the help and generosity of people and organizations like yours I can continue to impact others in a positive way. I thank you in advance for your time, cooperation and generosity.

Life is most significant to me when I am impacting the lives of others.

Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Sincerely,

Crystal Thompson
